Human Franchisee, Sally Clark’s Story
Tell us a little bit about your background and what led you to becoming a Human Franchisee
My career in recruiting began around 15 years ago. After many years working for other people, I set up and ran my own business for a while because I wanted to take control of my earning potential and have the flexibility to work the hours I chose, balancing work and life around my family.
But, while I loved having the freedom to balance my family life around my work, I found it very lonely working on my own with no one to rely on, run things by or cover when I was out of the office.
I was already aware of, and loved, the Human brand when I had an opportunity to work with Amy on some projects. We clicked immediately, and I felt like I was part of a team again, so I jumped at the chance to come on board when Amy suggested it!
What have you gained by being part of the Human recruitment brand that you didn’t have with your own business?
On their advice, I chose a niche to specialise in. And, although it wasn’t an area I’d had experience of recruiting for before, it was a sector I knew and understood through my husband’s work.
Now that I’ve become known as a specialist recruiter in that area, I have fewer clients but can command a higher fee. The upshot of which is being able to work less and earn more!
The tools provided are a real benefit. I have access to dynamic BDM and recruitment tools that give me a real competitive edge.
And I realised that in running my own business I had neglected my professional development and that I still had a lot to learn if I wanted to take build a successful, sustainable business. As a Human franchisee I have access to a world-leading recruitment coach, mentor and business support on tap.
I’ve also got the best of both worlds. As a Human Franchisee, I still have all the same freedom of running my own business, but I also have a valuable support structure; it’s a team and that team really wants me to achieve and succeed.
Thanks to Amy and Mark’s help, advice and support, I’ve come an incredibly long way in a short amount of time. I now have more time, more money and more peace of mind.
What would you say to someone else thinking of setting up a Human recruitment agency franchise?
I’d say that I wish I’d done it sooner – that I wish I’d met Amy five years ago. Because, if I had, I’d be so much further ahead already!
So, if you’re thinking about it, get in touch and find out more. Honestly, you’ll wish you’d done it ages ago.
